We will pass it on to the artist of your choice or if you have no preference then we will pair you with the artist best suited for your needs.

Discuss with your artist the design, timeframes and receive a quote.

QUESTIONS

How much does a tattoo cost?

Every tattoo is custom, so the price depends on size, placement and detail. Our shop minimum is $150. Send us your idea and your artist will give you a time and price estimate.

Do I need to be 18?

Yes. You need to be 18 or older to get tattooed in Queensland.

Can I ask for the private room?

Yes. Ask for it when you text us, or tick the box on the booking form. You don't need to explain why.

How far in advance should I book?

It depends on your artist and the size of your piece. Send your enquiry as early as you can, especially for larger work.

Can I travel in for a full-day session?

Yes. If you're coming from out of town, we'll help you plan a longer session so the trip is worth it, and sort your design by text before you drive.

Here’s what we do differently at Rose & Thorn.

We think about more than just the tattoo. We’ve designed the whole experience, from the moment you walk in, to feel safe, calm and relaxing.

Why? Because getting tattooed can be a daunting moment. When your body’s already on high alert, you’re more likely to feel faint, feel sick, panic, or feel more pain.

Picture walking into a dark studio, with unfriendly faces and loud, intense music. Without even realising it, your body goes into fight-or-flight mode. It starts looking for the threat and wants to escape.

So when the needle touches your skin, it can feel like it hurts more. Your skin can also swell faster, flare up and go red.
We want your tattoo to turn out amazing, and so do you.

That’s why we’ve created a space that helps you relax, and that helps us do our best work.

A cheap tattoo is often an expensive mistake. You’re investing in something permanent, so don’t skimp out.

At Rose & Thorn Tattoo Studio in Toowoomba, a ‘custom’ design does not mean we just redrew it off Pinterest.

The piece is designed for your body. The placement, flow and scale are decided around your body, your curves, your shape, not a template slapped on without any consideration.

Sentimental tattoos have to survive the translation from story to skin, and still look right once they’re healed.

We don’t just book you in. We ask plenty of questions, give you professional advice, and we’ll be honest if an idea isn’t achievable, but we will then redesign one that is.

You leave knowing what was designed, why it sits where it sits, and how to heal it.

We are generally by appointment-only for custom tattoos but if you’re after something small & simple you can always try your luck with our apprentice.

What do you get when you combine the moon with the ocean?

My client and his mum got a sun and moon tattoo for each other whilst he was visiting from overseas. He didn’t want something too simple like a crescent moon and decided to switch it up with something a little more unique.

The moon never asks to be noticed.

The sun is easy to love. It arrives loudly, lights everything, brings warmth, and takes the credit.
People turn their faces toward it without thinking.

The moon works quietly in the background, often overlooked, quiet, constant, and doing the heaviest work no one sees.
Her power is gravitational. Invisible. Unrelenting. She lifts entire oceans without ever raising her voice. Every tide that comes in, every wave that rises and crashes and returns, is because of her. She doesn’t need to roar to move the world. She doesn’t need the spotlight.

The quiet force that has always been there. The one that never stopped being powerful.

FLASH DAY = HUGE SUCCESS 🫶🏼

Our Flash Day at Rose & Thorn was nothing short of incredible. People lining up an hour before we even opened the doors, determined to secure a spot with our team — and the energy from the moment we started, was unreal.

By the end of the day we completed 80 tattoos and raised $1000 for Sam’s leukemia treatment, making every single tattoo even more meaningful.

Rose & Thorn has quickly become known for something special — a beautiful studio space, a team of talented female artists, and a level of care and quality that makes every client feel welcome the moment they walk through the door.
